ABB Switzerland Ltd, Micafil can offer a large number of cast epoxy resin systems Fluvex®, suitable for almost any electrical insulation specification. Epoxy systems filled with Al2O3 enable gas-insulated switchgear spacers to withstand corrosive SF6 decomposition products. In addition, the insulation components are able to meet challenging specifications regarding mechanical stress even at high service temperatures. As an alternative, epoxy systems filled with silica are used in non-corrosive environment. Depending on the size of the insulator and the number of insulators required, either the Vacuum Casting Process or the Pressure Gelation Process (APG) is applied.
